Today, Monday, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Football Federation, Yasser bin Hassan Al-Misehal, held a meeting with a number of heads and representatives of the clubs of the “Yelo” First Division League, in the presence of His Excellency the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Sports for Sports and Youth Affairs, Abdulaziz Al-Masoud, Secretary-General of the Federation, Ibrahim Al-Qassim, Chairman of the Technical Committee of the Federation, Turki Al-Sultan, Chairman of the Competitions Committee in the Federation, Naim Al-Bakr, Chairman of the Referees Committee, Manuel Navarro, and the CEO of the League, Talal Al-Obaidi.
During the meeting, the application of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology was approved, starting with the second round matches of the “Yellow” League for the current season 2021-2022, which will start on January 17.
The date of the founding assembly to launch the Yelo League for First Division Clubs was also discussed, on January 21.
The meeting discussed a number of topics related to the Yellow League and explored ways to develop the competition in a way that contributes to raising the level of players and clubs, and improving the organizational level of the league.
It is noteworthy that the meeting came within the plans of the Saudi Federation to listen to the clubs’ proposals to develop the football sector in all its categories, which serves the future of Saudi football.
